Promote fruit ripening
Experiments have shown that the fruit produces ethylene during natural ripening. Ethylene can regulate a series of activities such as enzymes, nucleic acids and respiratory metabolism in fruits, and promote fruit ripening. When the ethephon solution penetrates into the plant, ethylene will be released at different rates depending on the pH of the cell, accelerating the ripening of the fruit.
Tomato processing method
1. Soaking method
Pick the green ripe fruit for the color change period and use 1500PPM of ethephon for about 1 minute, remove and drain it into a bamboo basket, hotbed or greenhouse. Control the temperature at 22-25 °C, after 2-3 days, large Some fruits turn red.
2. Coated fruit method
After the tomato enters the color-changing period, in the first half of the harvest, the cotton ball, the brush, etc. can be used to extract the fruit from the 2000-3000 PPM ethephon solution, or the gauze, the gauze glove, etc. can be used to make the fruit 6-8 early. The days are ripe, increasing the early red fruit yield, and its red maturity and quality are better. When applying fruit, as long as the bracts or fruit surface are mostly applied, since the ethephon treatment can be carried out in the fruit, even if some of the ends are applied, the whole fruit will mature. This treatment can improve work efficiency and save labor.
3. The fruit method
In order to promote the early spring tomato market, it is necessary to improve the work efficiency. In the color change period of the first and second ear fruits, directly spraying the fruit with 800-1000 PPM of ethephon solution can promote the turn of the red, mature 5-7 days earlier, and increase the early stage. Yield. Pay attention to avoid spraying the liquid onto the stems and leaves when spraying the fruit.
4. Spray method
The spray method is more suitable for processing tomato in one-time harvesting, saving labor and simple, but it is necessary to strictly control the spraying time and concentration. Generally, in the late growth stage, most of the fruits have turned red. When there are some green fruits, in order to accelerate the ripening of these fruits, 1000 PPM of ethephon solution can be used for whole plant spraying, so that the tomato slices turn yellow quickly, and the green fruits mature quickly and harvest. Significantly increased the proportion of red ripe fruit.
If it is sprayed on the plant before the color change, it can be red ripe for 5-6 days, but the concentration is lower, 500~1000 mg / liter is appropriate, otherwise it will cause yellow leaves and leaves.
When the peel is discolored, use the ethephon 1000-4000 mg / liter of fruit to accelerate fruit ripening and color change. It can also be sprayed in the field with 1000 mg / liter of ethephon, but it is easy to cause leaves.
